501(c)(3) nonprofit veterinary hospital dedicated to providing
compassionate, high quality, and affordable veterinary care to pets
in our community. We serve families who may otherwise lack access
to essential veterinary services while working to reduce shelter
overcrowding and strengthen the human animal bond. Our work is

Position Overview The Director of Hospital Operations and Grants
serves as the senior administrative leader of the veterinary
hospital, responsible for overseeing daily operations, staff
management, financial oversight, and organizational infrastructure.
This role also leads the identification, management, and
fulfillment of grants that support the hospital’s programs and
long-term sustainability. The Director works in close partnership
with the Medical Director, executive leadership, and the Board of
Directors to ensure operational excellence, financial health,
regulatory compliance, and successful execution of funded programs.
Key Responsibilities Hospital Operations and Leadership • Provide
day to day leadership of hospital operations to ensure efficient
workflows, high quality patient care, and an excellent client
experience • Oversee staffing models, scheduling, coverage, and
timekeeping in alignment with organizational policies and labor
requirements • Supervise administrative and support staff and lead
hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management • Develop,
implement, and maintain hospital policies, procedures, and standard
operating protocols • Oversee facility operations including
inventory management, purchasing, vendor relationships, and
equipment maintenance • Ensure compliance with all applicable
veterinary, safety, employment, and regulatory standards •
Financial Management and Reporting • Lead operational budgeting in
partnership with executive leadership and external accounting
support • Monitor clinic financial performance, revenue, expenses,
and key operational metrics • Oversee billing systems, collections,
and internal financial controls related to hospital operations •
Prepare regular operational and financial reports for leadership
and the Board of Directors Grants Strategy and Management •
Identify public and private grant opportunities aligned with
organizational priorities and community needs • Lead or support the
development, writing, and submission of grant proposals and
applications • Oversee grant compliance, timelines, deliverables,
and reporting requirements • Prepare grant reports including
narratives, data summaries, and outcomes analysis • Collaborate
with medical and program staff to collect impact data and patient
outcomes • Maintain organized grant documentation to support
audits, renewals, and funder relationships Organizational
Leadership and Collaboration • Serve as a key liaison between
veterinary staff, administration, leadership, funders, and the
Board of Directors • Support strategic planning, program expansion,
and long term sustainability initiatives • Foster a collaborative,
respectful, and mission driven workplace culture • Participate in
leadership meetings and contribute to organizational decision
making Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare
administration, nonprofit management, business administration, or a
related field preferred • Five or more years of leadership or
management experience in a veterinary hospital, healthcare, or
nonprofit setting • Demonstrated experience in grants management
and reporting, with grant writing experience strongly preferred •
Strong operational, organizational, and project management skills •
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities • Proficiency
with veterinary practice management systems and Microsoft Office or
Google Workspace • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast
paced, resource constrained environment • Commitment to animal
welfare, access to care, and community focused nonprofit work What
